Sandy aftermath in the streets, home, businesses in The Rockaways was 6-11' of ocean water, sewage, sand, oil from dislodged tanks, wet asbestos, fiberglass insulation, boardwalk and all sorts of things floating around. The day after, a local all volunteer group (who had rebuilt the community once before after the plane crashed there 2 weeks after 9/11) the Graybeards went into action. They pumped out, mucked out, cleaned out homes and have not stopped to this day. They gave out Gift Cards for food,… Show more Home Depot, and helped more people than one would be able to list. The entire community has been affected by this, no one was spared. They need our help and they need it now! Do kids really know where music comes from? As most food does not come from a jar, can, or market but from the ground, music does not come out of an electronic box but from living and breathing musicians. This delightful experience allows children to see the music being played and to participate with their own voices.
