Jumping Rope and Turning Tricks by David Eliet
A traditional radio drama, script in hand, the story is told in a series of flashbacks by a young girl while in conversation with an aged writer. The girl, a victim of statutory rape is victim of her own guilt and insecurities and is found as easy prey by a series of characters. The play seeks to explore how girls in our sexualized society can be taken advantage of by authority figures, turning to drugs as they spiral downward into a nether world that exploits them for their age and vulnerability.
