Undressing History: What Women Wore in the 18th Century
Thursday, Feb 21 5:30p
Colony House
Newport,
RI
A living history interpreter dresses from her undergarment, known as a shift, into a working class women's gown, then redresses into an upper-class gown while describing each garment’s material, manufacture, and function. Each article of her clothing is a meticulously crafted period reproduction. General admission costs $5, $4 with Winter Festival button and $1 for NHS members. Please RSVP to 401-841-8770.
